How my parents got married!
My parents got married on the 17th of July! They knew each other 6 years before their marriage. They invited the whole family and many friends! All of them together reached 1000 people! I did not attend the wedding because I was not born yet! They got married by a priest at St. John’s church due to the fact that the church was near their house! (People have to get married at the same parish where their house and church are located) The church was small and ancient with beautiful gardens outside and many colorful paintings inside. Also inside the church was decorated with white flowers and candles.
The groom (my dad) was waiting with his parents and his best man outside the church for the bride (my mum) to arrive. He was holding a beautiful bouquet of white roses to offer to my mum. My mum arrived with a limo accompanied by my grandparents. She was so beautiful with her white and elegant wedding gown that everybody was very amazed! My grandfather escorted her to my dad, where my parents kissed and they all entered the church where the ceremony began.
When the ceremony finished all of the guests went outside waiting for my parents to get out so they throw at them flower leaves and rice seeds! The flower leaves represent happiness and the rice seeds good luck and fertility. Everybody was giving them their best wishes, while they were headed towards the limousine. All friends and relatives followed the couple driving to a big ball room of a hotel for the greetings. The room was beautifully decorated with flowers and candles while romantic music playing at the background. My parents together with my grandparents stood at a small platform ready for the people to pass by and give their greetings and presents. During the whole time it was offered champagne and small snacks. At the exit traditional Cyprus cakes were offered to the people. The greetings lasted about 1 hour. Around 120 people, all close friends and relatives, attended a dinner party followed by a dance party all having a great time until the morning hours.
There a lot more stuff and ideas that I have in my head about my wedding but for now here is a general description! I would like my wedding to be at an exotic island with no more than 400 people, mostly close friends and family, at a small white and beautiful church! I would like to get married by a priest. I will wear a beautiful white dress and hold a beautiful bouquet of colorful orchids! After the ceremony, followed by my best man or woman and my parents, we will enter the limo and head to a beautiful garden where there will be lovely food and delightful decoration. I would like the garden to have exotic trees and plants. While we start to dine there will be romantic music playing at the background! After the dinner we will start dancing and having a lot of fun! It will be the best wedding ever!
